On the evening of July 10, 2026, the Community Foundation Granted $560,000 to 42 charitable projects in the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Region. Grants were distributed from the Moffat Family Fund, Lake of the Woods Dream Funds, Charitable Agency Endowments, Donors Designated Funds, Student Bursaries and Youth in Philanthropy Grants.
The Community Foundation announced the distribution of $560,000 in grants to charities in the Kenora and LOW Region on July 10th at their summer granting ceremony. Since our inception in 2004, local charities have received over $7 Million in distributions and our generous donors have grown our endowment funds to $10 Million. Darcia Curtis, Board Chair, stated “Tonight, we reflected with gratitude on the generosity, collaboration and community spirit that continues to shape the work of the Community Foundation”.
Executive Director Lynn McAughey added, “We celebrated more than grants and dollars. We celebrated with our donors who care deeply about this community and region, volunteers who help steward charitable resources and organizations working every day to serve and tackle our communities most pressing problems.”
