Kenora & Lake of the Woods Community Foundation

What is a Community Foundation?

A community foundation is an independent, volunteer-driven charitable organization with a focus on community philanthropy. At KLWCF, we work with local community partners, agencies, organizations, volunteers, or individuals who donate money, time, or support for charitable work in the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Region. We give where we live through a trusted granting program. We provide leadership on issues of community concern and support the causes that strengthen our community.

Kenora and Lake of the Woods Community Foundation is a community leader fostering positive change. We do each of the following:

  • Build endowment funds that benefit the community forever
  • Provide personalized service for individualized giving
  • Partner with professional advisors
  • Multiply the impact of gift dollars by pooling resources
  • Offer maximum tax advantage for gifts

For the past twenty years, volunteers have been the driving force behind the success of the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation.

Hi, I’m Lynn McAughey, Executive Director of your Community Foundation. From our Board of Directors, to members of our various committees, volunteers are the life blood of this organization. Residents, businesses, and agencies all give of their time and skills; our volunteers contribute to Community Foundation events, like the Festival of Trees, the Annual Charity Golf Tournament, our Giving Challenges, and donate their time to our Finance, Fund Development & Granting Committees. On behalf of our donors, grant recipients, sponsors and staff, we thank all our volunteers for the difference they continue to make, in building up our community and region. Since 2004, your Community Foundation has granted over $5 million dollars to charities here in the Kenora & Lake of the Woods Region.

Be part of the Community Foundation story – become a volunteer today.

A special thank‑you to our partners
