The Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation supports and serves on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, territory covered by Treaty #3, signed in 1873, and the chosen homeland of the Métis who signed the Métis Adhesion to Treaty #3 in 1875. We acknowledge that our Indigenous peoples are the stewards and guardians of this land. As a community and workplace, we honour and celebrate our Indigenous nations, their traditional knowledge, and contributions. We acknowledge the harms of our shared history on Indigenous peoples, and we move forward in the spirit of inclusiveness and reconciliation within our community work. We are all Treaty people, and we respect and are grateful to be on these lands with all our relations.
