The Annual Festival of Trees Charity Fundraiser is the Community Foundation’s largest fund-raising event and assists us in accomplish our mission of helping to improve community living and the quality of life for citizens and visitors to the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Region.

Each year, families, individuals, organizations, and businesses, donate beautifully decorated trees, wreaths, and prizes to be auctioned at a Gala Night of Philanthropy. Earlier the same day, “Community Day”, features a series of musical performances from local children and adult choirs, individual and group performances and even a singing dog! Community Day participants can view the decorated trees and wreaths and enjoy gingerbread cookies and hot apple cider. Traditionally, hundreds of people attend Community Day, while over one hundred guests enjoy the Gala Night of Philanthropy, with a delicious meal, appetizers, musical performances, and the sounds of a Vinyl DJ.

A wonderful tradition has emerged where many successful auction bidders consider donating their trees or wreaths to local charitable organizations, such as the Kenora Public Library, the LOW District Hospital, Pinecrest Home for the Aged and many others, to help spread the holiday spirit in in the month of December. Don’t miss out on this beloved Kenora holiday tradition! Hope to see everyone out on November 29th at the Clarion Inn to enjoy a “Mistletoe Masquerade”, at the 22nd Annual Festival of Trees, Charity Fundraiser.
